WINDOWS XP COMES INTEGRATED INTO WINDOWS 7

If you thought Microsoft was going to dump Windows XP completely, think again.


Windows 7 is approaching its official release date not too long from now, and this week Microsoft unveiled one of the "secret" technologies that will ship with Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate.

Called XP Mode or XPM for short, the new feature essentially virtualizes the legacy Windows XP operating environment within Windows 7. That is, users will be able to install all applications that were previously only fully working with Windows XP, on their Windows 7 desktop without having to resort to a dual-boot solution.

Indeed, Windows 7 comes with "compatibility mode" but XPM isn't the same. XPM is actually built on the same platform as Microsoft's Virtual PC 7 product. This isn't the same as running an XP environment through a hypervisor. It was previously believed that XPM would be a Hyper-V client for Windows 7, but it is not.

However, XPM will utilize virtualization technologies in recent processors from both AMD and Intel, such as Intel's VT.

Users will be able to install a Windows XP application, and launch it seamlessly on the same Windows 7 desktop, along side Windows 7 versions of the same application, without actually affecting the core operating system. This fact alone, allows Microsoft to continue to support Windows XP in a virtualized environment, thereby giving legacy support without actually building loads of legacy code into Windows 7. This not only improves Windows 7's stability and speed, but also security.

At this time, Microsoft is claiming that XPM provides near perfect Windows XP compatibility within Windows 7.

Microsoft will include a full license of Windows XP SP3 with every copy of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate for use with XPM.

General Mobile Computing Rules

When using your notebook computer in your work or home office, you may be more comfortable using a standard keyboard and display along with comfortable furniture.


Use a chair that gives you good lower back support. In a mobile computing environment, consider propping a pillow, rolled-up towel or other soft object against the back of your chair. Sitting on a soft object such as a cushion is an easy way to adjust an otherwise non-adjustable chair such as those typically found in a kitchen or hotel room. Keep your forearms, wrists and hands in a relaxed, neutral position. This can be accomplished by adjusting the height of either the work surface or your chair.

Keep your thighs parallel to the floor and your feet flat on the floor or a footrest. In a mobile computing environment, consider placing your feet on a book, briefcase or other solid object. Keep your head in a comfortable position. A 15-degree downward viewing angle is optimal. Maintain a comfortable viewing distance. 20 to 30 inches is optimal.

Position your display so as to avoid glare or reflections from overhead lighting, outside sources of light, or even reflections off of your own shirt. Consider closing blinds, turning off some overhead lights and/or orienting the display perpendicular to the light source.

Keep your display screen clean and set the contrast and brightness to levels that allow you to see the screen clearly. Remember that LCD displays are not as bright as standard displays.

Frequent short work/rest breaks are especially important in a mobile computing environment. In addition, it is especially important to listen to your body and take a work/rest break when the first signs and symptoms of discomfort arise. You may also want to try some basic stretching exercises.

SET RECYCLE BIN TO DELETE FILE AUTOMATE

The Recycle Bin is the special folders of windows on the hard disk to store deleted files and folders. These files or folders can be restored from the Recycle Bin to their original location if required for use.

But you can set the Recycle Bin setting that the files and folders are deleted from hard disk are not placed in the Recycle Bin. So with the help of windows registry editor you can set the Recycle Bin to always delete items.

Jus follow the steps :

+ First click on Start button then type Regedit in Run option.

+ Here locate the location to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\BitBucket

+ Here in right side panel, double click on NukeOnDelete and set its value 1.

+ Now close the registry editor and restart your computer after any changes to go into effect.

NOTE : Microsoft recommends that you run System Restore to create a new restore point before you follow these steps.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

3. In the left pane, locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents

4. In the right pane, right-click OOBETimer, and then click Modify.

5. Change at least one digit of this value to deactivate Windows.

6. Click Start, and then click Run.

7. In the Open box, type the following command, and then click OK.

8. Click Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows, and
then click Next.

CHANGE THUMBNAIL PHOTO OF XP WITHOUT ANY SOFTWARE

WaNT to change the thumbnail view size of your photos in XP .. !! This can be done by a simple registry trick without any software.

Follow the steps here to change the size :

+ Open run -> regedit

+ In registry navigate to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft \ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Explorer

+ In the right side box, right click -> new -> DWORD Value

+ Give it the name ThumbnailSize

+ Right click on thumbnail size and click modify.

+ Now change the value data to any number between 20 to 100 (in hexadecimal) or between 32 to 256 (in decimal).

Done .. !! Your thumbnail size will change as your desired size.

But as the day of the first class for closer,we started to get nervous about our little six month ole's reaction to the water.what if he's swallow pool water?what if he asphyxiates?Our heads were full of anxious question and what ifs and we started to wonder if we had been a little too enthusiastic when we made the decision to take him swimming.

Sure,we knew the benefits which are stated by the advocated of infant swimming better motor-skill development easier socialisation and most importantly,no fear of the water.They say that swimming babies learn to walk faster too.But all of that was just theoretical for us.

We entered the poolside and were assaulted by the voice of the swimming instructor booming iver the laughter and shrieking of a group of naughty toddlers.We had half a mind to go running straight home before our son was overwhelmed by all the activity.

On top of that, all of the other babies were at least a few months older than ours and most of them were already swimming veterans.

"Put your right hand in,put your right hand out,put your right hand in and shake it all about," we sand in unison,as we wriggled out little babies in the water.Everything was so easy and so much fun.

"Here we go round the mulbery bush,"also promised more of the same.It was all great until we came to Ring around the roses.At ashes ,ashes we all fall down,it was time for the dunk.I don't know what possesed me,but i dunked him with gusto.And we survived it.And he didn't seem to mind it.His visceral response to the water and to participate in.

What i found out later is that childred under the age of one have a natural instinct to hold their breath under water.aAd these classes are witness to that fact.Although I wouldnt suggest doing these without trained professional at hand.I strongly recommend this small,but very important step in equipping your child to interact with one of the most powerful elements on earth-Water.

PROTEAS PUT AUSSIES IN A SPIN TRAP

KALLIS AND DE VILLIERS shared a century partnership to set up a comfortable 25-run win for southafrica in the one-day international against Australia at Newlands on Thursday.
